The remnant of intellect. That which binds and orders the chaos into being. Separating the good from the hateful. The tenet of those who help.

The Flame Queen

Hypnotic as the dance of the fire within her soul, The Flame Queen rules over all the flame mythos etched in her being. This month’s downloadable offering comes with a print-ready PDF as well as a PNG file if you want to color on your tablet.

Spirit

The wellspring of intuition. Our reflection upon all forms of knowledge. Invisible connections between us. What breathes meaning into the world we live in.

Monthly Tip Contest

I used to draw 5 x 7 illustrations as tips at my favorite restaurants and coffee shops. My way of saying thanks for being awesome. Now, I get to say thanks to supporters of my site who are awesome.

If you leave a tip in the tip jar, you can opt-in to win the Pen & Ink illustration you see here. The highest single tip of the month wins. Click the button for more details.

Even if you don’t tip, thank you for visiting. I appreciate every one that stops by.

Who is Codefreespirit?

My name is John Glock. I live in the USA. The one near the Gulf of Mexico, not the Gulf of America. I’m an artist, writer, and educated overthinker. Even have the degree to prove it.

My visual voice grew up in a small mountain town and loved waterfalls, forests, muppets, comics, D&D, and Star Wars. It matured toward detailed narrative artists like Edward Gorey, David Lynch, and William Blake. In the late nineties, it discovered tarot cards, and never went back to the mundane again. 2001 was the year I created my most well known work, The Eternal Dream Tarot. I stopped selling it to finish college, and my voice disappeared for many years.

I’ve finally saved enough to give this creativity biz another go. I don’t have a perfectly polished brand to sell you. It’s tough because I have a lot of trouble taking myself seriously. However, I do care deeply about doing my best work, and I hope you’ll find something fun and interesting in what I do.

I don’t always do social media, but when I do, you can find me on…
