Promises Made, Promises Broken
Artist Statement
I’m not one to make a lot of political art especially when the world seems to be of two very different realities, but… that said… I can’t sit in silence during this stressful moment in American history.
The black hole in this image holds no salvation for this soulless politician trying to protect himself from the consequences of his actions with his right arm. He leads to an empty truth while ignoring the starving hands of his victims.
He is an elitist criminal and like many wealthy elites, he believes his freedoms are attacked if he gets called out conning innocent consumers. If he isn’t allowed to victimize you, he’s the victim of injustice, and any governing body that voices out against his abuse is a corrupt, inefficient, broken system that must be replaced.
The only reality left is the suffering of those he ignores even though their multitude will eventually overtake him. In a nation where self-awareness is being attacked as a sign of weakness, the broken believe they are strong and they only make empty promises.
