Creation of La Muerte Nos Despierta [30 seconds].
I come to the notion of death in the tradition of Dia de los Muertos. Death’s transformation is represented from the fading of embodiment into decorated remains then deconstructed and reabsorbed into the fabric of the universe.
I’ve always loved the meanings behind Dia de los Muertos, and I hope I captured the reverence, tragedy, magic, and wisdom of the sacred day. It’s not easy to represent grief and hope in the same image.
Drawn on Procreate, this download is a print-ready PDF file. It is composed as a full bleed, full resolution image you can print on letter size paper to fit a standard 8 x 10” frame. Larger prints may result in lower resolutions and sizing. (Framed image is for demonstration purposes only. This download does not come with a frame.)
